“Every man who does something has against him: those who wanted to do the same thing, those who are doing exactly the opposite and above all the great army of people, much more severe, who are doing nothing.” (J.Clarétie)
First of all, some information to show that the situation is continuing to deteriorate. In certain schools we’re bit by bit arrived at the stage where criticism of Pope Francis is no longer tolerated: “You have to see the positive things...” In a class of doctrine, a child said: “I heard that the bishops and Popes of today are close to Protestants …” Answer of the nun: "You’re judging the bishops and the Pope, you mustn’t do that.”
A Mother Superior General, on visit to one of her houses, spoke to the girls about "Blessed" José-Gabriel Brochero, who has been newly “beatified” by Pope Francis (14th September, 2013). How will we get children to understand that the “saints” of Francis (John XXIII, John-Paul II) are not saints?
In convents and priories, the mail is read and censored. Certain superiors are increasingly touchy about certain subjects and refuse any discussion. A lot of people appreciated the clear intervention of Fr. Rousseau on the scandalous imposture of the announcement of the canonizations of the internationalists John XXIII and John-Paul II. His indignation was justifiable and normal. But the General House let Fr. Rousseau know that he ought not to have aced out of passion!
Menzingen retreats only in appearance and only under the pressure.
In August, 2012, Bishop Fellay appointed Father Pierre-Marie Berthe as professor at the seminary of Flavigny. Father de Cacqueray (District Superior of France) opposed this appointment, saying that if this priest had qualities, he also had liberal weaknesses which make him unfit for the formation of future priests. His objections were ignored! During one year, this professor dispensed in the seminary a shocking teaching reported by several shaken seminarians: debates about the new attitude to adopt towards Ecclesia Dei groups, meditations based on the encyclicals of Benedict XVI and the texts of Vatican II … Furthermore, this professor did not hesitate to attack Father de Cacqueray publicly and in front of the seminarians, saying that he is inflexible, strict and unyielding. It was only with the combined pressure of several priests, and in anticipation of the fear of a mounting scandal, that Bishop Fellay agreed to his transfer.
Even the seminary of Écône, despite the rectitude of the Superior (Father de Jorna), is not spared. Fr. Quilton is a professor of Moral Theology: he defends and has no problem at all in applying the new Code of Cannon Law (1983). He was also appointed prosecutor in the trial of Fr. Pinaud: he justified the theft of private correspondence by Fr. Wailliez and with the help of Fr. Thouvenot. Graver still, in the charges brought against Fr. Pinaud, Fr. Quilton says, concerning an agreement with Rome: “This danger to the Faith, even had it been real, would not permit you to incite subjects to rebellion.” Father Cadiet for his part declares that Dignitatis Humanae, understood within the right limits, is not opposed to Tradition…
The tribunal established by Bishop Fellay to judge Fr. Pinaud condemned him with suspensio a divinis ... Father Wuilloud (the Judge) forbade him from saying Mass even in private, from confessing, from preaching … The judge reprimanded Fr. Pinaud for daring to write in his last defence: “Because of the numerous concessions that it made to the Second Vatican Council and to the unacceptable conciliar reforms, for that only, the Doctrinal Declaration of April 15th, 2012 constitutes a danger for the Faith which legitimises the revolt, because this Doctrinal Declaration is not a ‘minimalist’ text, as Bishop Fellay writes in the editorial of Cor Unum 102.”
Make no mistake, the General House (Menzingen) has not changed, they have merely adapted themselves to the new circumstances. The neo-spirit is spreading softly. The appearances deceive the naive and reassure those who want to be reassured. It will therefore be understood that there is a need to think about the future. As long we do not have a Superior General with integrity to bring the SSPX back to the principles of its founder, we have to act.
Therefore, we issue an appeal to the faithful: we intend in 2014 to establish the Resistance in France in a more structured way. We already have four possible projects. If for your part, you also have projects (chapels, motivated groups of faithful, young people wishing to dedicate themselves to God, schools...) do not hesitate to make it known to us, by writing, before 24th December 2013, to Father Olivier Rioult - 18 avenue avenue des Acacias - 59320 Sequedin.
During the course of January 2014, we can weigh things up, visit you and, if possible, make the right decision. In these times of cowardice and softness, may the passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ be our consolation and may the sweetness of the Gospel of a God who loved us to the point of giving His life for us and making Himself into food in our exile help us to serve Him with zeal and withgratitude.
Have a good Advent period and a Holy Christmas
